720,127. Dispensing measured quantities of liquid. GASKELL & CHAMBERS, Ltd., [also trading as NON-DRIP MEASURE 'CO.]. Sept. 1, 1953, [Sept. 18, 1952], No. 23488/52. Class 106 (5). A counting mechanism 18 is fitted to a device for delivering measurec quantities of liquid anc is actuated by an operating member 9 which moves axially to contro inlet and outlet means for the liquid and an air valve 6. The counter is of the type comprising a series of peripherallyfigured discs mounted or a shaft 19 and enclosec within a casing of plastic or metal, the discs being visible through ar opening covered by a panel or hinged flap. When the member 9 is pressed upwardly to effect delivery of the measured quantity a flange 11 engages a nut 26 on a spring-loaded plunger 23 which rocks an arm 22 on the shaft 19 to operate the counter. The plunger, which is fitted with a sealing washer 25, operates the counter before the air valve 6 is opened and, on the return stroke, enables the counter to reset itself before the measuring chamber is refilled so that fraudulent operation is prevented.
