Abstract
720,112. Traps. ECONOMIC WATER SOFTENERS, Ltd. Feb. 2, 1953. [Jan. 31, 1952] No. 2586/52. Class 33. A water-seal trap for wash-hand basins, baths and similar sanitary appliances comprises a U-shaped inlet pipe 4, the shorter leg of which is connected at 2 to a cylindrical anti-syphon chamber 1 whose axis is at right angles to the axis of the longer leg of the inlet pipe and which has an outlet pipe 5 connected to an outlet 3 at the opposite side of the chamber. The shouldered nuts 6 allow rotation of the pipes 4 and 5 relative to the chamber 1 to enable the trap to be adjusted to fit the various waste connections, and in an alternative form the .inlet and outlet at the bottom and top respectively of the chamber 1 may be disposed at opposite ends thereof for fitting in restricted spaces. A plug 7 allows cleaning of the chamber.
