Abstract

529,986. Washing bottles &c. SCOTT, W., and PEARSON, T. W. May 30. 1939, No. 15928. [Class 138 (i)] Drinking glasses 42, Fig. 2, and other receptacles to be cleaned are inverted and placed side by side on a corrugated surface 25 of a box 12. A lid 10 is closed and its movement automatically revolves a plug cock 27, Fig. 1, to admit water, vapour or steam through pipes 22, 24, 19, 14 to hollow floor and lid and at same time pushes a piston 35, Fig. 3, into a band 36 to supply cleansing or antiseptic liquid to the pipe 22. The closing of the lid results in a single injection of the antiseptic. The flow of water or vapour continues as long as the lid is held down. On the lid being freed it is raised automatically by springs 11.
