Abstract

1,079,680. Waste traps. ALFA LAVAL A.B. July 13, 1965 [July 15, 1964 (3)], No. 29646/65. Heading E1C. A waste trap comprises a tubular inlet part 2 to connect the outlet 7 of a sink, wash bowl or the like and a parallel tubular outlet part 4 for connecting to a drain 11, the parts 2, 4 being connected by a tubular junction part 3 and locked to each other in different positions of relative rotational adjustment by a member 6, and a removable cup member 5 closing the lower end of the inlet part 2 below its junction with the tubular part 3. The locking member 6 comprises a tap tube 8 threaded internally at the top to engage with a nipple 17 on the outlet 7. The inlet part 2 has an inward flange at the top and the locking member 6 has an outward flange 18 thereat, a U-shaped gasket 13 having one arm between the said flanges and another between the flanges on the inlet part 2 and a co-operating portion of the sink, wash bowl or the like. A connecting pipe of two pipe bends may be used to connect the outlet parts 4. These bends may be joined by a coupling by having integral formations thereon, whereby they are joined or released in a unique relative rotational position.
