2 Claims. 1
The invention relates to and more especially to a systems.
The primary object of the invention is the provision of a fitting of this character, wherein it has, connection with a sewerage piping, and enables the association therewith of a group of fixtures such as, a lavatory, kitchen sink and a toilet bowl, or the like, as well as a shower drain, the fitting being of novel construction and is unique in the arrangement thereof, as the toilet bowl can be readily and conveniently attached thereto, with sewerage connections from all of such fixtures, without excessive piping for such purpose.
Another object of the invention is the provision of a fitting of this character, wherein it can be arranged so that access can be had thereto for the cleaning out of the connections with ease and dispatch, to avoid stoppage in the system, it being readily installed and is serviceable for many drains.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a fitting of this character, which is simple in construction, thoroughly reliable and eflicient in its purposes, strong, durable, conveniently installed within a building and inexpensive to manufacture and install,
With these and other objects in view the invention consists in the features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which discloses the preferred embodiment of the invention and pointed out in the claims hereunto appended.
In the accompanying drawing:
Figure l is a side elevation of the fitting constructed in accordance with the invention;
Figure 2 is a top plan view thereof, it being in full lines while by dotted lines are disclosed various fixtures in associated relation thereto.
Figure 3 is a fragmentary elevation showing a portion of the fitting with the clean out plug.
Figure 4 is a sectional view taken on the line 4-4 of Figure 1 looking in the direction of the arrows.
Similar reference character indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views in the drawing.
Referring to the drawing in detail, the fitting constituting the present invention, comprises a vertically disposed straight stand pipe section ill, having at its uppermost end the usual hub portion I I for the joining thereof with a continuation pipe section (not shown) upwardly of a house a piping system fitting fitting for plumbing for a plumbing system therein. The lower end of this section I0 is adapted for coupling with a main waste or soil pipe layout which also is not shown.
Cast or otherwise integrally formed with the section III is a horizontally directed laterally extending substantially triangular shaped piping frame involving the upper and lower spaced outwardly converging portions I2 and I3 respectively, which open into the section In at their inner end next thereto, and the union bend I4 at their outermost ends.
Within the frame crosswise thereof and joined with the portions I2 and I3 are perpendicular pipe runs I5 and I6, respectively which are substantially parallel with the stand pipe section I0 while the run I5 has at diametrically opposite sides thereof vertically aligned webs forming wings H, which are provided with open slots l8 opening through the outer free edges thereof.
The lower portion I3 bend I4 and runs I5 and it are provided with proper sized nipples l9 respectively so that drain or waste leads, not shown, can be tapped therein from a kitchen sink diametrically shown and indicated at 20, as well as a lavatory basin, toilet bowl and a shower stall 2|, 22 and 23 respectively as best seen in Figure 2 of the drawing.
The bowl 22 is adapted to be connected to the webs or wings I! in any suitable manner for the mounting thereof on the piping frame, hereinbefore mentioned, the slots I8 being for the fasteners, not shown, efiecting the mounting of such bowl.
The pipe section II] is formed with a coupling branch 24 and a clean out portion, the latter being closed by a removable plug 25, while the branch 2i is for a take-off of the plumbing system to other localities of a house. The fitting can be installed in any selected manner within the walling of a house or the like and at any floor plane thereof.
What is claimed is:
1. An integral fitting comprising a vertical standpipe, a one-piece pipe bent back upon itself forming a bight pipe portion and upper and lower pipe portions diverging therefrom, said upper pipe portion being in communication with and extending laterally from said standpipe in a substantially horizontal direction, said lower pipe portion being in communication with and extending laterally from said standpipe at an angle thereto, said pipe portion being integrally joined to said standpipe whereby a unitary structure is formed, a plurality of pipe runs extending between and in communication with said upper and lower pipe portions, said pipe runs being REFERENCES CITED spaced from and extending substantially parallel The followin references are of r cord in the to each other and to said standpipe, said onefile of t p t t: piece pipe, said pipe runs and said standpipe 5 UNITED STATES PATENTS being coplanar, and a plurality of nipples extending from said pipe runs, said biglit portion Number Name Date and said lower pipe portion for connection to 2,280,952 Hofimann Apr. 28, 1942 Waste Outlets of fixtures. P
2. The combination of claim 1 and wing porlo tions integrally formed with and extending trans- Number C011ntry Date versely from diametrically opposed portions of 499,222 Great Britain 1939 one of the parallel pipe runs and in the plane thereof, said wing portions adapted to support a plumbing fixture for connection to a nipple on 15 said one of the parallel pipe runs.
