488,066. Cleaning waste pipes. HORWITZ, C. Aug. 18, 1937, No. 22701. Convention date, Aug. 22, 1936. [Class 99 (ii)] Obstructions in waste pipes of sinks &c. are removed by water supplied from a tap to a housing member 10 which is adapted to be secured in a fluidtight manner to the mouth 11 of the waste pipe. As shown, the housing is provided with a branch 33, to receive the end of a hose leading from the tap, and a resilient washer 31, and it locates a junction member 20. This member is in the form of a ring which carries adjuatable screws 12 with hooked ends for engagement with the grilles 14 of the waste pipe and is secured to a rod 25 which passes through a hole 35 in the housing and is fitted externally of the latter with a nut 28, tightening of the nut effecting firm attachment of the housing to the waste pipe and compression of the washer 31.
