Abstract

720,109. Wool winders &c. ISTED, A. E. April 30, 1953 [Jan. 30, 1952], No. 2537/52. Class 18. [Also in Group IX] A domestic wool &c. winder and holder comprises a casing 1 of metal, cardboard, plastic material, &c. having removable end caps 3, which may be a sliding or screw fit, and a longitudinal slot 2. The caps 3 rotatably support a rod 5 having a rubber or plastic sleeve 6, on which the wool is wound, and a pair of removable discs 7 which are secured on the spigot by rubber or plastic collars 9. The spindle may be rotated by the parts projecting through the end caps. In a modification, the sleeve 6 may be dispensed with and the rod 5 made thicker in the portion normally occupied by the sleeve and merging into the end parts of the spindle by tapers on which the discs 7 can be wedged.
