Abstract

719,218. Drains in wath; building blocks. DAWKES, W. H. C. July 11. 1952 [April 11, 1951], No. 8401/51. Classes 20 (2) and 87 (1) A drainage duct is formed by elements 10 built into a brick &c. wall and dimensioned to course and bond with the bricks and having registering passages 12 with a lining 20 forming the duct. The elements 10 are the same size as a standard brick except that they have a splayed projection 11 on one long face. The element 14 between the elements 10 is of sufficient length to occupy the space of two bricks and has a groove to provide a simulated mortar joint in. the middle. The assembled elements rest on a shoe block 18 formed in two posts 18a, 18b, Fig. 7, with part of the channel 19 in each. The 'block 18 may be used as a head block. A rain water head 23 has an outlet 24 fitting in the upper end of the lining.
