Abstract
Three alloy steels for the parts of a pipe joint contain (1) 2.25 per cent. chromium, 1 per cent. molybdenum with a coefficient of thermal expansion of 7.8 x 10-6; (2) 17 per cent. nickel, 17 per cent. chromium, 3 per cent. manganese, 2.5 per cent molybdenum, 7 per cent. cobalt, 1.8 per cent. niobium, with a coefficient of 8.9 x 10-6; (3) 18 per cent. chromium, 12 per cent. nickel, 1 per cent. niobium, with a coefficient of 10 x 10-6.
