718,602. Aluminium alloys. ROHLAND, P. G. Aug. 27, 1951, No. 20189/51. Class 82 (1) [Also in Groups XXII and XXV] A clamp for forming a loop in a wire rope or for joining the ends of two wire ropes, e.g. as shown in Figs. 6 or 11 comprises a copper free aluminium alloy containing 0.7-1.2 per cent. silicon, 0.5- 1.0 per cent. magnesium and 0.2-0.7 per cent. manganese. From 2.3 to 3.0 per cent. iron may also be present. When compressed into position the tensile strength and hardness of the clamp is increased.
