Class 110(3) [Also in Group XXII] A turbine blade is provided with a projection 5 at its root for engaging in a groove 6 in the wheel disc 2 of a turbine rotor and the blade is fixed to the disc by filling the recess 7a formed by inclined parts 7 on the blade root and disc periphery with welding material and then removing the projection 5 and groove 6 by machining a second recess 7b which is also filled with welding material. The blade projection may be inclined to the longitudinal axis of the blade.
