Abstract
717,162. Operating clutches. NASH, H. R. Jan. 1, 1952 [Jan. 2, 1951], No. 141/51. Class 80 (2) A clutch member 3 is forced against a lining 1A, carried on a clutch member 1 secured to a shaft 2, by a screw means the member 11 of which is stationary and the member 10 of which may be rotated, against spring means (not shown), by a handle 13 to engage the clutch through an intermediary thrust race 8. The members 10, 11 may have co-operating cam surfaces instead of screw threads. The clutch is intended to connect a road wheel to the driving axle of a tractor of the kind shown in Specification 676,965, [Group I]. The road wheel is attached to the member 3 by means of studs 6.
