Abstract

716,311. Pile fabrics. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. May 4, 1951 [June 20, 1950], No. 15348/50.. Class 142(4) [Also in Group VIII] A pile fabric has a backing material formed of a composition comprising a polymer or copolymer of vinyl chloride with fibres anchored in the composition and is prepared (see Group VIII) by distributing fibres on to a heat-gellable paste, comprising a polymer or copolymer of vinyl chloride dispersed in a plasticizer therefor, applied to a backing sheet formed of a polymer or copolymer of vinyl chloride; and heating to gel the paste. The backing material may have a superficial porous layer by using a foamed paste or by adding a blowing agent to the applied paste. Specifications 684,708, 704,456 and 712,240, [all in Group VIII], are referred to.
