Abstract

698,251. Gripping devices for waistbands. BROADSTONE SYNTHETICS, Ltd. March 2, 1951 [July 12, 1950], No. 17434/50. Class 141. [Also in Group VIII] A binding for waistbands &c. consists of a length of cloth cut on the bias with extruded strips of rubber or plastic composition e.g. foamed rubber extending lengthwise to give a friction grip. Films of latex may be applied to and forced into the weave of the cloth before the strips are applied. The rubber &c. composition may contain fillers such as vulcanised ground rubber and the strips thereof may be heated to cause them to gell and then embossed and finally cured.
