Abstract

<PICT:0715254/III/1> <PICT:0715254/III/2> <PICT:0715254/III/3> A machine for painting the internal surface of the pipe line 13 comprises a wheel-like frame 19 mounted on bogies 12 which run on a track 14, and the axis of the frame is disposed in the direction of travel of the bogies. The frame is rotated by an electric motor 23 and transmission gearing which includes friction driving rollers 16, 24, and rotary brushes 28 (see Group XXIII) biased resiliently outwards by an endless rubber band 28a and interconnected links 27 apply a viscous tar paint to the pipe line, the paint being supplied from an inner channel section, hoop 21 of the frame and via a pipe 30a. A paint distributing plate 31a partly covers each brush and rotation of the frame 19 causes a stationary spring leaf 32 fixed to the superstructure of the frame to dam back the paint and force the paint through the pipes 30a.
