768,000. Land-rollers. AKTIEBOLAGET VIBRO-VERKEN. Oct. 20, 1954 [Nov. 30, 1953], No. 30144/54. Class 6(1). [Also in Groups XXIV and XXXI] In a vibrating roller having a vibrating drum 2 resiliently supporting a frame 1 carrying an engine 5, the engine 5 rotating the drum through two chains 10, 11, an arm 14 is journalled at one end to the roller and at the other end to a bar 18, which latter pivot carries two interconnected sprockets 13, 16 one chain-connected to an engine-driven sprocket 17 and the other to a sprocket 12 on the drum 2, the bar 18 being pivoted to the frame adjacent the sprocket 17, and the arm and bar being adjustable in length to tension the chains. As shown the roller frame 1 is supported by a steering roller 3 and the roller 2 and the engine 5 is interconnected with a change-speed gear 7 by a transmission 6. The roller 2 contains eccentric weights 21 which are rotated by the engine through a chain drive 9 to give the roller vibratory movements. The sprocket 17 is arranged on the output shaft of the gear 7 and is connected with the sprocket 12 on the roller 2 through the chains 10, 11. The arm 14 carries a lug 14<SP>1</SP> to which is pivoted the bar 18.
