Abstract

715,070. Securing hose pipes to plates. PRESSED STEEL CO., Ltd. Feb. 20, 1953 [Jan. 9, 1952], No. 652/52. Class 99 (1). A hose pipe 14 is secured in a sheet metal plate 11 by forming an apertured dished portion 12 in the plate, the hose fitting the aperture and being clamped therein without substantial deformation by a ferrule 15 inserted in the hose end. The ferrule have a flange 16 lying flush with the plate and enclosing the dished portion. The flange 16 may be turned over at 17 to fit within the dished portion. In a modification the aperture in the plate has a tubular flange 22, Fig. 4, and the ferrule 25 is joggled at 28 and has an upstanding rim 29 to which a cap 30 may be applied.
