[Also in Group XXII] A corrugated multi-ply flexible metal tube is made from inner and outer seamless metal tubes 1, 2, Fig. 1, with one or more intermediate plies 3-6 formed from metal strips embracing the inner tube 1. Each strip may completely embrace the tube with its edges in abutment or a ply may comprise several narrow strips 21, Fig. 3, with their edges in abutment. A single wide strip 23 may be wrapped round the inner tube to form more than one ply. In another example a narrow strip is helically wound round the inner tube with its edges in abutment or overlapping.
