Abstract

760,640. Flexible tubes. PLESSEY, CO., Ltd. July 19, 1955 [June 25, 1954], No. 18649/54. Class 99(2) A flexible metal tube 1 is provided with internal and external reinforcement wires 4, 5 which may be in the form of metal springs. The wires are secured to the tube only at the ends by weldings 6 or brazing. The inner wire 4 may tend to expand resiliently outwards while the outer wire may tend to contract resiliently inwards. The convolutions of the tubing may fit closely to the coils or make line contact with the coils.
