Abstract
714,682. Apparatus for use in bread and biscuit making. BAKER PERKINS, Ltd. Jan. 16, 1952 [Feb. 16, 1951], No. 3847/51. Class 28(1) A moving surface, e.g. a conveyer or roller, is dusted with flour by pressing or presenting a continuous carpet of flour to the under surface of the conveyer or roller in excess of that required, the excess flour falling away preferably in an enclosed space. The lower side 4 of a conveyer band 1, the upper lap 2 of which is used for the reception of dough sheet, is deflected downwardly by a guide roller 3. Beneath roller 3, an elevator supporting roller 5 is carried preferably on roller bearings 6, on a shaft 7, the latter being vertically adjustable in slots 12 in walls 8 by screw 13. The elevator comprises a chain belt 14 which is mounted on rollers 5 and hangs in a loop containing a floating roller 15, e.g. of stainless steel, immersed in a flour supply 11. Preferably roller 5 is covered with flannel or the like. Roller 5 and hence belt 14 travel at the same rate as conveyer band 1. Strickler 22 prevents excess flour being lifted by the belt 14.
