Abstract

794,187. Dough-moulding machines. BAKER PERKINS, Ltd. June 29, 1955 [June 29, 1954], No. 19000/54. Class 87(2). A piece of dough is necked as at 13, to allow it to be folded sinuously for placing in the baking tin, by passing it between a surface 2 having outwardly diverging ribs 6 and a moving surface e.g., a roller (see Fig. 1, not shown) or a conveyer band. The divergence of the ribs accommodates the elongation of the dough piece during its travel between the moving surface and the surface 2. The ribs are adjustably secured to the surface and are provided with rounded edges and a layer of non-adherent material, e.g., polytetrafluoroethylene, where they contact the dough. The surface 2 may have diverging side flanges to square the ends 18 of the dough piece.
