Abstract

1278251 Rolling dough G McSWEENEY 18 June 1969 [19 March 1968] 13212/68 Heading B5A Dough from a hopper 10 urged by a roller 12 is formed into a continuous falling sheet by passage between pairs of adjustable rollers 16, 18, 20, and this sheet is shaped into a continuous twisted ribbon 23 by its rolling between a spring-urged plate 25 and an upwardly indined conveyer 28. The latter is driven intermittently via gearing 34, 36 and during each pause in its movement the dough sheet, which passes between guides 40, 42 on the plate 25, almost reaches a guide 32. The dough ribbon passes down the underside of a ledge 44 and on to an endless conveyer 46 from which it is transferred to a horizontal conveyer associated with a transversely reciprocated adjustable plate which further rolls the ribbon between itself and the conveyer. The ribbon is then chopped into pieces which are fed to a further conveyer.
