Aug. 25, 1952 [Sept. 10, 1951], No. 21247/5K Class 6 (1) A grit-spreader comprises a tipping vehicle 4 having a tail-board 2 with a rearwardly-extending shoot 7 for directing material on to a vaned rotary disc 9 which is frictionally driven by a trailing wheel 10 supported from the tail-board 2. The tipping body 3 has internal partitions 5 leading to an adjustable gate 6 operable, through a handle 26, by an operator standing in the compartment 27 of the body. The wheel 10 is carried in a fork 12 pivoted on a pillar 15 and spring-loaded into ground-engagement. The pillar is secured to the tail-board 2 and carries a bearing for the disc 9. Specification 713,266 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
