Class 78 (4) A transportable container comprises wheels or skids for, movement between a transporting vehicle and discharging stand or stillage or discharging vehicle and having a removable top or a fixed top with one or more covered openings, the sides of the bottom sloping to. one or more discharge openings fitted with internal valves, operated by external means, attached to the container or the stand or stillage on which the container is supported during discharge. The container comprises a body part a with an upper tapering part b with a top opening with a closure d and a tapered bottom with a bottom opening fitted with a conical valve and braced by supporting members g carrying wheels j. The container may be supported on channel members l of a stillage for discharge and the container may be run on to a vehicle for transport. The conical valve is externally operated by a lever 11 and a vertical rod connected to the valve passes through guides in the inside of the receptacle, the rod being fitted with agitating arms or with means for introducing air under pressure. In an alternative form only two sides of the bottom are sloped to a central longitudinal opening and the supporting stillage is provided with skids. The valve is provided with hinged sides which collapse to the vertical when the valve is raised to aid discharge, the sides being extended again by members connected to the sides of the opening when closing the valve.
