Abstract

857,499. Inflatable containers. COW & CO. Ltd., P. B. April 22, 1959 [April 1, 1958], No. 10474/58. Class 66. A container 1 and an outer compartment 2 are made of rubberised fabric, plastics or like material, the container being surrounded by one or more inflatable tubes 3. The container 1 has an inlet 4 and outlet 5 both of which may be sealed, and the outlet 5 may have a valve (not shown). Handles 8 enable the container to be carried by a fork lift truck. The tubes 3 have a common air inlet 7 and may be inter-communicating as at 6 or, in a modification, may take the form of a single tube wound helically round the container 1. Alternatively, adjacent tubes may inter-communicate by a series of holes. According to the Provisional Specification the tubes 3 may be built of sections vulcanised together, the lower half of one tube being formed integrally with the upper half of an adjacent tube, the top and bottom tubes being completed by half tubes.
