Abstract

934,005. Pallets for handling by fork trucks. K. DAHMEN. Sept. 6, 1961, No. 32058/61. Class 78 (4). Freely rotatable protective sleeves 4 surround the pairs of hollow feet 3 of a pallet which has similar upper and lower plates 2. As described the sleeve may be a complete cylinder made of polyethylene which is placed in position before the feet 3 are screwed or bolted together or it may have a longitudinal slit with the edges of the slit either abutting or overlapping, so that it can be put in place with the pallet assembled. The feet 3 are moulded integrally with the plates 2 which may be beaded e.g. as shown in Fig. 9. The feet may be pyramidal, conical or hemispherical. When dismantled the two halves of the pallet can be stacked compactly. The plates 2 preferably consist of synthetic resin but they may be wood with the feet made of detachably secured tubes.
