[Also in Group XI] A seamless cable sheath formed of aluminium, aluminium alloy or steel is provided with a plastic covering, preferably of polyvinyl chloride, which is applied around the sheath in the form of helically or longitudinally arranged strips, the meeting or overlapping edges of the strips being welded together by high frequency heating. The covering may be applied in two layers with an intermediate armouring or braiding of flat or round wires. Specification 710,858 is referred to.
