[Also in Group X and XXV] A clamp for surface patterned reinforcements for prestressed concrete (see Group X) comprises a plurality of sections mating with the pattern of the reinforcement, and is adjustable longitudinally of the reinforcement and suitably shaped to serve as an abutment to hold the reinforcement in its tensioned state. Fig. 1 shows two identical rods 10a, 10b provided with longitudinal ribs 11<SP>1</SP>, 11" (not shown) and peripheral ribs 12<SP>1</SP>, 12" and joined by a clamp consisting of two symmetrical portions 13a, 13b, each with a semi-cylindrical channel 14 bearing a pattern of grooves 15<SP>1</SP>, 15", and 16 which mate with the ribs of the rods. The two portions 13a, 13b are joined together and forced into engagement with the rods by means of nuts 19', 19" and bolts 17<SP>1</SP>, 17<SP>11</SP> passing through holes 18', . 18<SP>11</SP> which may be elongated to allow for any relative displacement of the pattern halves 13a, 13b. The clamp shown in Fig. 4 comprising half shells 113a, 113b of tropezoidal longitudinal section is applied to the patterned rod 110, and wedge-shaped shoes 120a, 120b bear on the inclined sliding surfaces of the shells. The shoes 120a, 120b are held together by nuts and bolts 119, 117, and an anchor plate 122 is located between the shoes and the concrete 121 to be prestressed. The clamp may comprise more than two complementary parts.
