Abstract

PURPOSE: In a jount for culverts wherein short cylindrical pliable members made of an elastic material are provided at the joint portion, to improve the durability of the pliable members by arranging a plurality of strength members along the pliable members at regular intervals.
CONSTITUTION: Culverts 1 and 1' each consist circular concrete cylinder, and hollow anchoring members 2 and 2' are fixed to the inside end portions of the opposed opening end faces of the culverts. The members 2 and 2' are provided with anchor bolts 2A and 2A'; the walls faced to the members 2 and 2' are provided with through grooves 3 and 3'. A plurality of strength members 5 are arranged between the members 2 and 2', the ends of the members 5 being supported inside cavities 4 and 4' in such a manner that they can move within a certain range. At the peripheral positions of the members 5, pliable members 7 and 8 are stretched across the members 2 and 2'.
