709,066. Sub-press mechanism. PLESSEY CO., Ltd. May 19, 1952 [May 18, 1951], No. 11682/51. Class 83 (4) A sub-press mechanism has upper and lower bolsters 7, 1 guided on posts 2. Interchangeable upper and lower tools are secured to the bolsters. The upper press tool 18 is mounted on a backing plate 19 clamped to the bolster 7 by slotted clamps 9. The lower bolster 1 carries clamping strips 5 co-operating with inclines on a die plate 12 fitted with guides 14 and a stripper 15. Stops 16, 17 for the strip may be fitted. A filler plate 10 with notches 11 engaging pins 20 is fitted under the die plate.
