Abstract

957,615. Punching; cupping. ELM WORKS Ltd. Dec. 7, 1960, No. 42151/60. Addition to 955,666. Headings B3Q and B3W. A tool for performing punching and/or pressing &c. operations comprises bars 1x 2x attachable to the ram and bed respectively of a press (not shown), a plurality of cooperating tools 11x, 23x mounted slidably and adjustable angularly in guides 5<SP>1</SP> on the bars, and means 20x, 21x for clamping the tools after adjustment. As shown, the sub-press mechanism is similar to that disclosed in the parent Specification, except that the punchholders 8x and the die-holders 8xx have only one clamping slot, 9x, 9xx, and the clamping nuts 20x are preferably of dovetail cross-section. Washers may be placed at each end of the stripper springs 17x. The dies 23x are in mounts 38xx fixed to or integral with the holders 8xx, and the stock-guides 27x (Fig. 2, not shown) may be on both bars lx, 2x.
