Abstract

The press has an upper rotary plate and a lower rotating plate the lower plate carrying a set of matrices to support the sheet to be pierced, and the upper plate carrying a set of guides for the piercing or punching tools. Between them is an intermediate plate attaches to the upper drive spindle by a spherical joint so that it can be swung down by a cylinder operated vertically acting mechanism which terminates in a pressure rod with a spherical head with a cage around it. This intermediate plate carries a set of resilient stripping bushes. These bushes are grooved so that they are retained by flanges around the intermediate plate, which is sectioned so that they can be interchanged.
