Abstract
708,597. High frequency electric filters. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. June 13, 1952 [July 24, 1951], No. 14956/52. Addition to 704,050. Class 40 (8) A high frequency electric filter comprises a broad conductor member 4, with another conductor 5 which is narrow forming a transmission line with it as described in the parent Specification, the line 5 being so shaped as to introduce inductances and capacities into the line so that it forms a filter section. In the example shown the spirals 6 and 9 form inductances in parallel across the line while the sinusoidal sections 7 and 10 form inductances in series in the line. Broken parts 8 of conductor 5 form capacities in series in the line, while spirals 6 and 9 in conjunction with conductor 4 form capacities in parallel with the line. The filter may be provided with a screen over it coated with lossy material. In alternative arrangements inductance may be provided by forming a portion of conductor 5 as a helix, and capacity may be formed by connecting plates to conductor 5 which are in proximity to conductor 4 and dielectric material may be placed between these plates and conductor 4.
