Abstract

707,728. Suspending curtains. HEWETT, J. R. March 11, 1953 [Oct, 20, 1952], No. 26264/52. Class 52(5) A pelmet of non-metallic sheet material comprises a central member 2 slidably supported on bracket members 3 mounted on the inner side of the front walls of two right-angled end members 1. Inverted key-hole slots on angle plates 4 attached to the end pieces 1 enable the pelmet to be fixed to screws on the wall. An ornamental centre piece 6 is suspended from the pelmet by hooks. If the central member is formed of two boards they may be supported by a bracket 9 of inverted L-shape with a hook 12 to support the boards. Ornamental pieces to cover the joints of pelmets for bay windows comprise hinged .panels 15 with hooks 17 to engage over the boards.
