Abstract
707,704. Photographic emulsions. ILFORD Ltd. March 3, 1953 [March 20, 1952], No. 7224/52. Class 98(2) A direct positive photographic emulsion comprises a fogged silver chloride emulsion (which may contain up to 1 per cent of silver iodide) containing a complex alkali metal or ammonium halide of rhodium. The emulsion may be fogged by light exposure or by including formaldehyde therein and allowing to stand at elevated temperature. In an example, formaldehyde solution is added to a gelatino silver chloride emulsion containing silver iodide and the emulsion heated. The pH is then adjusted to 6.25 and a solution of rhodium trichloride in aqueous sodium chloride solution added. Specification 667,206 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 602,160.
