Abstract
541,232. Indazole derivatives. KODAK, Ltd. (Eastman Kodak Co.). Feb. 14, 1940, No. 2815. [Class 2 (iii)] [Also in Group XX] 5-Nitroindazole is prepared by treating an acetic acid solution of 5-nitro-2-aminotoluene with aqueous sodium nitrite ; 1-methyl-5-nitroindazole is prepared by the re-action of 5-nitroindazole in sodium hydroxide solution with dimethyl sulphate. 5-p-Toluenesulphonamidoindazole, 5-benzoylacetaminoindazole, and 5-p-nitrobenzoylaminoindazole are prepared by reducing 5-nitroindazole and treating with the appropriate acid chloride. 5-Benzoylacetaminoindazole may also be prepared by heating 5-aminoindazole with ethyl benzoylacetate.
