Abstract
705,753. Regulating liquid levels. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER. June 1, 1951 [June 2, 1950], No. 13084/51. Class 123(1) Relates to the maintenance of the liquid level in a store tank 3 at a constant height Ho with respect to, say, a metering nozzle 9 of an associated vessel 8 communicating with the tank 3 through a syphon 7. The tank 3 is mounted within a jacket 12 of cross-sectional area F<SP>3</SP> which is adapted to float in liquid of density D<SP>2</SP> in 'a second vessel 4 with a liquid inlet and an overflow 6, 5 respectively, said tank 3 having an area F<SP>1</SP> such that F<SP>1</SP>/F<SP>3</SP> = D<SP>2</SP>/D<SP>1</SP> where D<SP>1</SP> is the density of liquid in the tank 3. In a modification the tank 12, with liquid of density D<SP>1</SP> as before, itself floats within a vessel containing a constant quantity of liquid of density D<SP>2</SP>, the areas F<SP>1</SP> and F<SP>2</SP> of said tank and vessel being such that F<SP>1</SP>F<SP>3</SP>=D<SP>1</SP>-D<SP>2</SP>/D<SP>1</SP>
