685,676. Ship stabilizing. MUNGUET, O. F. Feb. 18, 1947. [March 25, 1946] No. 15356/51. Divided out of 685,601. Class 113 (i). The ship is stabilised by two tanks N, N<SP>1</SP>, each containing two immiscible liquids of different densities and connected by at least one pipe provided with a pump to move liquid from one tank to the other. The space thus emptied by one liquid in one tank is occupied by the second liquid e.g. sea water from the surrounding sea, the difference in density giving the out-of-balance moment required. The power for the pump may be obtained from the main engine A described in Specification 685,601. Specification 685,675 also is referred to.
