704,466. Regulating switches. GES. FUER ELEKTRISCHE ZUGBELEUCHTUNG. March 9, 1951 [May 9, 1950; Aug. 9, 1950], No. 5744/51. Class 38(5) [Also in Group XXXV] In a regulating switch in which a rotatable magnet armature wraps a short circuiting band over a curved series of contacts, the force of the magnet is held in equilibrium with that of the band by (a) an additional spring loaded band and a cam secured to the magnet; or (b) a non-linear magnet air gap; or (c) a special contour of the contacts. The short circuiting band b1 secured to a pivoted frame r and tensioned by a spring f1, is moved across the contacts l1, 12 by the armature a which is restrained by the spring tensioned band b2 passing over the curved guide plate k. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the magnet air gap is shaped by using a laminated pole piece, the laminations being clamped into position after adjustment: The curved contact arrangement is disclosed in Fig. 3 (not shown). Two such switches may be arranged so that their contacts are relatively displaced by half a step.
