Abstract

703,676. Magnetic compositions. STEATITE RESEARCH CORPORATION. Feb. 21, 1952 [Sept. 28, 1951], No. 4642/52. Class 38 (2) A ferromagnetic body which may be a core for high frequency inductances and transformers consists of ferrite material incorporating the oxides of magnesium, zinc and copper. The magnesium and zinc oxides may be to the ferric oxide in a molecular proportion between 1:0.9 and 1:1.1, the copper-oxide may amount to between 1.5 per cent and 8 per cent of the weight of the material, and from 0.2 per cent to 2 per cent by weight of lithium oxide may be added. The material may be produced by heating at 2300‹F.-2400‹F., a mixture of powdered oxides to which the copper and lithium have been added as basic carbonate and carbonate respectively. Specification 671,788 is referred to.
