Abstract

703,535. Friction clutches. FICHTEL & SACHS AKT.-GES. July 22, 1952 [Oct. 3, 1951], No. 18503/52. Class 80 (2) In a centrifugal plate clutch, the presser plate 1, normally moved into disengaged position by adjustable springs 18, is moved into engaged position by weighted levers 7 each acting through two (or more) pre-compressed springs 2 arranged between the plate 1 and cups 3 co-operating with abutments 5 on pins 4 secured to plate 1, each two cups being rigid with a cross-piece 11 which has knife-edge engagement with the lever 7. The movement of the.weighted ends 6 of the levers 7, guided in radial recesses 13 in the cover plate 10, is limited by the outer periphery of the plate 1 and the inner surface of the rim of the driving flywheel 12. The clutch may be disengaged at any speed by radial levers 14.
