Abstract

703,311. Locomotives. HENSCHEL & SOHN GES. MIT BESCHRANKTER HAFTUNG. Oct. 9, 1952, No. 25320/52. Class 79(1) In a steam accumulator rail vehicle a steam accumulator is arranged on two bogies. Each bogie or only one of them may be provided with one or more driving engines. As shown in Fig. 1 the accumulator is mounted upon longitudinal members 3 which are supported by the bogies 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, driving positions 7, 7<SP>1</SP> being provided at the ends of the vehicle. As shown in Fig. 2 a steam drawing-off pipe 8 is provided and connected to a superheater 9 which is connected by pipes 10, 10<SP>1</SP> and valves 11, 11' to the engines M, M<SP>1</SP> on the bogies, the valves being controllable separately or conjointly. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), each engine is provided with a superheater and a steam drawing- off pipe. Exhaust steam from the engines may be used for direct or indirect heating of the train. Specification 703,310 is referred to.
