Abstract
736,798. Locomotives. HENSCHEL & SOHN GES. June 30, 1952 [Sept. 26, 1951], No. 16437/52. Class 79(1). In a locomotive tender having a condensing arrangement included in a super. structure, a tank for the storage of water, and fuel carrying means associated with the tank, the tank is cylindrical, extends the length of the tender and is constructed to withstand internal forces and transmit tractive forces without additional frame members therefor. The front portion of the tank may be used for oil fuel storage, or as shown a coal bunder 6 may be carried by the water tank 1. Condenser elements are arranged along the sides of the tank 1, and a transverse condensate tank 3 is welded beneath the tank 1. Anti-surge baffles 5 are provided.
