Railway locomotives, steam.-A locomotive comprises a boiler vehicle 1 fitted with a turbine 3 which drives the coupled wheels 11 through reduction gearing, and the exhaust from which is led to a second turbine 4 mounted on a trailer vehicle 2 carrying a condenser. The turbine 4 exhausts into the condenser and is connected :o the turbine 3 by a flexible pipe 5. In a modification, each vehicle is fitted with two turbines arranged either in series or in parallel. The turbines may be arranged on bogies.
