Abstract

703,112. Cabin lights. ROBY, A. R. Oct. 13, 1952 [Oct, 12, 1951; Nov. 16, 1951], Nos. 23765/51 and 26859/51. Class 113(1) [Also in Group XXV] A bow-handle or wingnut for use in securing the glassholding frame of a side scuttle or window is formed in two parts, one part 10 being a nut portion which is screw-threaded for fitment to the swivel bolt of the scuttle and the other part 12 comprises a handle portion which is revoluby associated with the nut portion and adapted for f r e e rotary movement within limits, relative thereto. The nut portion 10 has a peripheral flange 15 having a stepped portion or ledge 16 providing stop faces 17 and 18. The handle portion 12 has an arcuate stop piece 19 which engages either of the stop faces 17, 18 when the two parts 10 and 12 are revoluby fitted together by a grub screw 20 in the handle portion 12 engaging an annular groove 21 in the nut portion. In another embodiment the ledge and stop piece arrangement is replaced by a grub screw or screws in the handle portion engaging a groove or grooves extending part way round the nut portion, which screw or screws serve in addition, the function of the grub screw in the embodiment of Figs. 2-4. In this second embodiment the nut portion is provided with a flat or flats so that a spanner may be used if the handle portion becomes detached or broken.
