Abstract
An assembly of inclined plates to be disposed in a channel along which flows liquid to be treated (see Group I) may be used for the grading of granular or of pulverous materials. In the transit of the mixture through the apparatus the coarsest and heaviest grains are deposited while the finest grains remain in suspension. A number of assemblies may be arranged in series, the spacing between the constituent plates of the assemblies decreasing progressively throughout the series in a downstream direction. The deposits from the assemblies may be collected by travelling belts moving perpendicularly to the current.
