Abstract

Class 38(5) Also in Group XL(c) A chassis assembly comprises a pair of members hingedly connected together and each carrying electrical components, the connecting wires between the two members being combined into a single cable form which lies close to the hinge and has its ends doubled back and clamped to the two members. In Fig. 1, the lower member 3 is fixed to front panel member 1 and side members 4 and 5, and the upper member 2 is secured to members 4 and 5 by pivots 18 and 19, so that it may be rotated 180 degrees to give access to the wiring. Components on members 2 and 3 are interconnected by means of cable form 36 which runs along the hinge axis. Member 2 is supported in its closed position by a pillar on member 3 and may be bolted to panel member 1. A socket 29 is provided on the panel member for external connections, and the assembly may be enclosed in a dust cover and fitted in a tray. The assembly may constitute a relay switching device for use in an aircraft radio installation. Specification 673,092, [Group XL(c)] is referred to.
