701,779. Gyratory crushers. NORDBERG MANUFACTURING CO. Feb. 27, 1953, No. 5602/53. Class 59 In a gyratory crusher in which the crushing head 20 is mounted on a shaft 18 and is gyrated by an eccentric sleeve 26 which is mounted for rotation in a fixed journal 28, and in which a bearing sleeve 30 is arranged between the shaft and the eccentric sleeve and a similar bearing sleeve 32 between the eccentric sleeve and the journal, an oil supply passage passes through the journal and extends as far as the shaft so that, under the pressure of the supply through a pipe 52, oil is forced out of the passage into the clearance spaces between the bearing sleeves, the eccentric sleeve and the shaft. The passage is formed by radial holes 38, 40, 42, and 44, Fig. 2, formed in the journal 28, bearing sleeve 32, eccentric sleeve 26, and beaming sleeve 30 respectively, the holes 42 and 44 being connected by an axial groove 46 and the holes 40 and 42 by a circumferential groove 50. The crushing head 20 rests on a stationary liner 24 and oil is supplied to the clearance space between these members through a radial passage 54 and an axial passage 56 in the shaft 18, the passage 56 having at its upper end a branch 58 leading to a circumferential groove 60 in the head 20 which provides communication with a number of passages 62. Oil finds its way out of the crusher through passages 64 and 66.
