Abstract

Fixed-abutment type; adjusting parts for wear; balancing moving parts.-A rotary engine or pump comprises a cylinder 5 which gyrates round a fixed hollow cylinder 4, through a rocker 8 in which projects a member 7 dividing the crescent shaped working space 6. The dividing member 7 is fixed on an eccentric sleeve on the shaft 43 and the gyratory cylinder 5, which is constrained by a link 13, is maintainel at the same eccentricity by means of an outer controlling sleeve 10, Fig. 2, having ball bearings interposed between it and the gyratory cylinder. The shaft is coaxial with the fixed cylinder 4. Means for varying the eccentricity allow of adjustment for wear. The twin arrangement shown in Fig. 2 balances the axial pressure.
