Class 18 A crate comprises hollow section frames 2, 1 joined by corner posts 3. the upper frame 2 being capable of fitting within the lower frame 1 of an identical crate stacked above, the frame 1 of the crate above being below the median plane of the frame 2 of the crate below to cause locking between stacked crates upon relative lateral movement. The crate may have a shoulder 5 to support a superimposed crate, or a recessed bottom of the superimposed crate may rest on the frame 2 of the crate below.
